Adele Skyfall: Review.

After months and months of people speculating, gossipping, hearing rumours, seeing Adele leaving the recording studio, rewatching the Jonathan Ross interview on youtube where she says she's writing a theme, saying she would have a new single coming out in October, oddly at the same time as the new James Bond film, the world had been left to ponder over these very cryptic clues as to what Adele had been up to...  Wonder no more cause bugger me, they've only gone and announced that Adele will be singing the new theme from Skyfall. Something that I don't think anyone saw coming. But whats it's like, what does everyone think? lets take a look shall we?

On Monday Adele realised a picture via her twitter page confirming what we all know and have probably known longer then she did. The image showed the cover of the music sheet of Skyfall with Adele's long painted finger nail hand proudly resting on the paper.

It wasn't long before a preview leaked online and we all got our first taste and now it's out and number one on Itunes all over the world. I'm not gonna lie, I've already downloaded it and listened to it on repeat about 100 times, I instantly loved it. It's a soft, moody ballad that's vulnerable and honest, it evokes both mystery and heartbreak. It's very Bond while still being very Adele. The song is a return to a more classic Bond theme a more simplistic mature sound then we've had recently from the clumsy paring of Jack White and Alica Keys or whatever that thing was by Madonna. 'Skyfall' is in my eyes up there with some of the best of Bond, but only time will tell. Here it is...

While I may have a very high opinion of the song, and many agree with me, it still has its fair share of negative reviews and thanks to the internet, twitter, Facebook and our good old friend the comment box, everyone and their mum have been able to weigh in their opinion. Ryan Tedder thinks it's...

"The best Bond in my lifetime. Hands down- hats off once again to Paul Epwoth and Adele, Hope they win the Oscar."

While the Telegraph's Neil McCormick believes....

"The song is fine, but it inevitably pales in comparison to the songs to which it pays homage."

And Kaybee from Falkirk had this to say...

"What exactly is this 'SkyFowl' she is singing about?"

Interesting stuff but here's what I think; the song sweeps seductively along as it slowly builds, as the inflated orchestra swells and a choir kicks in on the second chorus, to an earth shattering final where Adele finally lets her signature big voice out for one big belt that lasts an impressive 13 seconds. Skyfall is already a Bond classic and is one of Adele's best songs in my option. I'm sure it will be a huge hit all over the world. I'm a fan, what about you?
