I’m a little bit in love with Ira Levine right now after reading‘The Stepford Wives’ and ‘Rosemary’s Baby.’ Though both books differ in tone,with one being classed as a horror and the other a thriller they both share onestrong theme, a very, very, VERY paranoid woman, and in both cases with goodreason. I had watched the 2004 remake of 'The Stepford Wives' starring Nicole Kidman,so you could see my concern at reading book; I mean, can it be better than the movie? The answer is yes, yes it can.

A slow burning chiller which builds and builds to an ambiguous ending that I loved, I just loved it and I can’t recommend it enough. Stepford is like the opening scene of ‘Blue Velvet’, a seemingly perfect facade with something very dark and disturbing behind it.
The same can be said for Rosemary if not more so, which hasan even slower build up than Stepford but has a more shocking ending that gave me the willies numeroustimes. Having seen the film I imagine it takes away from some of the surprisesand twist but knowing what happens allowed me to notice things which seemedirrelevant and mundane the first time round but on revisiting goes to show howcleverly the whole story perfectly ties together. Read it!
Stepford Wives book was amazing! Need to read A Kiss Before Dying now.
